Kim’s journey into the world of food and nutrition began with a
degree course at Bournemouth University, during which time she
completed a work placement year at the head office of Marks and Spencer working alongside food developers responsible for
developing new product ranges. After a brief stint at the head office of Brake Brothers she began a graduate training program
with Geest, one of the UK’s largest
food manufacturers and began developing food products for most of the large supermarkets.
A keen interest in health meant that Kim steered clear of ready meal factories and instead worked for factories who
specialised in fresh fruits, salads and vegetables. After 4 years Kim decided that she wanted to turn her passion for healthy
eating into another career and retrained as a nutritional therapist. An intensive two years of studying and working followed
after which she gained a diploma in natural nutrition. As she made changes to improve her own physical health she
realised that there were certain negative beliefs and emotions that were getting in her way and so began exploring the field
of emotional healing and the relationship between the mind and the body. After experimenting with different approaches, Kim
found Emotional Freedom Technique and was so impressed with the results that she decided to train so that she could offer
it to other people who had emotional issues. Then she came across Metamorphic Technique and again started to have treatment
session with a friend regularly. This helped transform some really deep beliefs and emotions that hadn’t yet shifted
and again impressed by the results Kim trained in this technique. ‘The beauty of metamorphic is that you can shift
really deep patterns without actually talking about them and the technique itself is very relaxing’
She has since gone on to participate in a group coaching program focusing on raw vegan food and loved the approach
so much that she started more recipe development. ‘The concept of raw vegan sounds really new age, but the interest
in this way of eating is really growing in the UK. It's a delicious, ultra healthy way to eat because the focus is on
fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and superfoods like bee pollen, maca and raw chocolate. You can make a really healthy raw
chocolate mousse, macadamia nut cheese and even nachos! It is definitely a growing trend amongst celebrities such as Uma Thurman
and Natalie Portman (check out www.rawfoodmedia.com) and recently Chad Sarno has opened the first raw food restaurant
in London called Saf (visit http://www.safrestaurant.co.uk), which serves gourmet raw food. It’s a very exciting time in the raw food world right now’.
